Another option developed by my friend chris checketts is gluing corian strips to the granite before cutting the seam on the saw. Even back beveling the seam edge and dressing it by hand with a 100 grit resin pad will work in the hands of a skilled fabricator. If done properly this transition should flow and be nearly invisible or else it can be very obvious.

In a perfect world there would be no seams. If one of these factors does not play out well your seam will be visible. Granite seams will never be invisible but if you cannot see the granite seam from the entry point of the kitchen and have to look from above the area to actually point out the seam you have a great granite seam. At rock with us we do our best to minimize the number of seams and we also work to make them as invisible or inconspicuous as possible. Starting with level cabinets will also minimize the amount of shimming the installers will have to do to create nearly invisible seams and a good installer can adjust for slightly out of level cabinets to achieve the nearly invisible seam you deserve. Although a good seam should be inconspicuous do not expect it to be invisible.

Most are less than 10 feet wide. Marble and granite slabs are generally not wider than 10 or 11 feet. But in some cases they re inevitable. Wipe down the granite edges with a slightly damp cloth.
